What is P90X?

Ok...we've all heard the big infomercials from Beachbody about their life-changing fitness programs that claim to get you in shape within a few months, but does it really work? Can we expect the same amazing results we see on the P90X TV ads? I had all these questions before I purchased P90X, and I want to tell you of my experience with P90X.

First off, P90x is an extreme home-fitness program promoted by a company called Beachbody. Tony Horton is the personal trainer that will show you each exercise and keep you motivated along the way with comments like: "Do your best and forget the rest" and "Bring it!" Unlike many other fitness programs Beachbody doesn't sell their's at commerical, big-name supermarkets or stores. Rather, they allow people like me to sell it for them.

The P90X workout consists of 12 different workouts. Including: (click on link to watch video)

1.) Chest and Back

2.) Plyometrics

3.) Shoulders and Arms

4.) Yoga X

5.) Legs and Back
6.) Kenpo X

7.) Strech X

8.) Core Synergistics

9.) Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps

10.) Back and Biceps

11.) Cardio X

12.) Ab Ripper X

What separates P90X from other finess programs is that it uses the technique of muscle confusion. This means that after the first 30 days the exercises you do change, although you may be working the same muscles. This is to prevent a plateau in your progress. A plateau is a result of doing the same exercises, working the same muscles over and over. By mixing up exercise the muscle's tiny fibers are challenged in new ways. This creates muscle. If those workout titles seem tame to you with Yoga X, Stretching, and Ab Ripper X don't be fooled. There is a reason that X is behind the title. It stands for EXTREME. In fact, P90X stands for Power for 90 days at an Xtreme level!
The workouts vary with length of time but are usually between 45 mins and an hour. That may seem long...you have two options. This may be too intense a program for you and you may want to try another Beachbody fitness program that requires less time. Option two....BRING IT! If you want that body you always wanted I will be the first to tell you it isn't going to be easy. To shed the pounds and GET RIPPED it will take some time, sweat, and a lot of determination.

If you are questioning wether or not you will get amazing results then ask yourself how much you want to be thin and muscular. If you want it enough, if you are saying, "I will do anything, whatever, however" this is the program for you because those who don't really want to lose fat and build muscle will give up. You can do this. Get your heart in it. Get the program. Then, GET RIPPED!
